our story
The Idea of Daras began when my father explained about Power of Mind and Thoughts to See Beyond what is known to this material world. He is a Chartered Accountant but a vivid learner, visionary and spiritually enlightened person. While he deals in finance and books of various individuals and entities, he started sharing his learning about how people grew or fell in life due to financial matters and cited examples from real life, when I opted for commerce in Grade XI to give me insights of real world.
My mother touched upon the key insights of power of money and how people with scarce money often bears the brunt and burden. She often mentors about the rationale and need to pursue career to make us financial independent and how blessed we are to have resources that keep us walking this path of progress and about many others that are not so fortunate.
These Insight, often left me to analyse if there were ways to help the left behinds in some way to coup up their way. Meanwhile, I was privileged to get mentorship from “Tribes for Good” that gave a vision about a small contribution that I could make to the society from the education I am acquiring and the discussions that I engage at home with my parents. Both of them encouraged me to do something on my own in this regard and thus “Daras” was born, a word I often heard in bhajans (spiritual songs) played at home.
I have been recently associated with a NGO “M3M Foundation” through my father’s help to work for people with scarce financial knowledge and often getting debt trapped. This is a small token of help for them.
I am often asked by people that why am I doing so – and my obvious answer is that I am learning and growing not just from their experiences but also because of the blessings I get in return for even smallest help that I have been able to extend.
